Steve- I'll be at the El Toro game Tuesday; they play Newbury Park at 3:15 at El Toro. I'll be sitting in a chair up by the fence behind home plate towards the 1st base side taking pictures.

Great post Pat... it's an uphill battle with parents, coaches, and counselors...the ones that seem to see the clearest are the athletes... they need the support and transferred confidence from us parents to succeed! Lets guide not play thru our kids!

This is interesting... Recently my son recieved a survey from the NCAA asking him to fill it out to the best of his ability. The research is looking to see their past athletic and educational experiencei. The program is called SCORE ( Study of college outcome and recent experience. This will be an interesting study I will keep track of everything and post results as they come in! .. thank you so much.

I spoke to a student athlete after the El Toro Newbury Park baseball game today... he filled me in on the sport lacross and how many schools in Orange County are now participating in CIF competition... add that to the list of all the other sports and students athletes and their parents should be real busy getting their scholarship packages prepared! Soooooo many colleges and not enough athletes. I really don't understand the stance some of you parents are taking when it comes to educating your kids. I'm hearing so many lame excuses its hilarious...because you don't know the system isn't your fault... my research has found that more then 70% of the parents I've interviewed has not a clue on what to do! Save yourself alot of money and heartache and let us help you at our seminars.Contact us at www.maketheplayofyourlife.com or 714.264.0678 let us share this experience with you and your student athlete!

Now as the seasons wind down and school lets out this is for some reason when parents and student athletes come out of the woodwork looking for the scholarship opportunities. Sometimes during the season people get uncomfortable discussing scholarships. I guess some people feel they may have to answer awkward questions. Lets get together individually or in a group... call 714-264-0678 and lets discuss your college options.

Just got back from road trip to east coast... great results.. I can't believe the response I had from the people in the outskirts of the major cities in the midwest and east coast. There are so many small universities and colleges back there and they don't seem to have the stigma of going to the big division I schools. I have to work harder out here on the west coast open the eyes of our student athletes and their parents... Great experience!

I love what you've been telling kids about worrying about playing at big D1 baseball schools. Look who's in the final 8 for the College World Series- Stony Brook and Kent State. I'm not even sure I know where Stony Brook is located and they're playing in the final 8!
UCLA vs Kent State at 2:00PST today with the Bruins sending ace Adam Plutko to the mound. I was just texting with Adam's uncle and he's already headed to the game! Yup- he's driving all the way to Omaha! The game will be televised on ESPN 2.

Hi Pat... I will spend the summer working with parents and their student athletes on their finishing touches on getting them into their college choices... I will also be traveling all over the country introducing myself to more university and college coaches to better my knowledge to bring to the seminars... this year I believe I put 63 student athletes into colleges that had either no hope in getting in or had know idea they had a chance of playing on after high school... One is on his way to Stoney Brook New York! thats where it is.

Thanks for the compliment... I have been to more then enough regionals, super regionals, and college world series competitions at all levels in college to know that the games are played because at any time any team has the ability to win! I have seen plenty of Dll and NAIA schools that could compete and even beat any of the big Dl schools at anytime.

One thing I'd like to make clear to all HS athletes... The common denominator at all venues that are hosting world series competition in Dl,Dll, Dlll and NAIA. There are major league scouts down the lines and guns behind the backstops with all eyes on the pitchers. Work hard in the classroom and sports will take care of itself!
