First place to look may be the private schools like Mater Dei and J Serra. They always seem to get some of the better players. Edison is always pretty good too.

How many teams does J Serra and Mater Dei have? Seems like JS has one or two freshman, 2 JV and one varsity. MD may have at least that many or maybe more. Does anyone know?

I was by El Toro today and saw Marina and Mater Dei play, don't know which MD varsity team it was, but there was no score in the 6th. Pretty big kids on both teams!

Big tournament this Thursday thru Saturday for local JV teams. Can't find the schdule yet, but I believe Trabuco, El Toro and one of the J Serra JV teams are in it. I think there may be one for the Varsity teams that just finished. Anyone know the details?

School starts in about 10 days and I know a bunch of players that are just itching to get back working out with their teams. What's going to be strange is over the past 6 years of my son playing travel ball he has played at least 20 games with at least 30-35 guys that are also entering high school. Remember all those weekends at BLD in Chino, West Covina and Riverside? I think Steed was my favorite, especially playing AAU because Eric, the So Cal Director is such a cool guy. My son will be playing with a bunch of guys he played with or against since Little League, but theres also a bunch of kids playing at other area schools. Us dads used to talk about playing in high school back when the boys were young and I can't believe it's all about to start...the high school years! I sincerely hope all the boys do well, several of them that will be sophmores this year had pretty good freshman years already. Good luck to all you guys, can't wait to see you at the fields this season! PB
